Taxidermy. Rowland Ward Buffalo Hooves.

A pair of early 20th century taxidermy models of Buffalo hooves.  Thought to be the work of Rowland Ward.  They are approx 8 3/4 tall.  Internally they have cylindrical compartments with circular wooden tops, approx dia 3 7/8 inches. 5 inches deep, They may have started life as cigar boxes.  The hoof bone is in good condition, one of the rear bone protrusions has had the tip broken and repaired, we suspect this was the case when the pair were made rather than later damage.  The hide has shrunk by about 1/8 inch at the top.  The hair is stable and there is no significant hair loss.  Overall in good condition.
