Antique Duke of Wellington's Regiment Potter's Drum.

An antique miniature Duke of Wellington's Regiment Potters drum. It is from the Potter's of Aldershot British Military musical instrument and parade uniform maker's archive collection.  Detailed painting to the 1st Bn The Duke of Wellington's Regiment, West Riding, a scale model of the real thing and authentic in every component used to make it.  Possibly the work of an apprentice as was the case in so many of the trades and businesses reliant upon top quality workmanship from their craftsmen. The outer painting detail is of the standard associated with George Potter & Co, vibrant rich colour and very finely executed. The drum skins are genuine and still taught, two approx 5 5/8 inch drumsticks are included.  The drum is approx 4 inches tall and has an approx 3 3/4 inches dia. It is fitted with a gut strung screw skin tensioner to base. Marked Potter Aldershot. Complete with wooden display stand. In very good condition.
